Ensuring the Roundness of Our Children

Did I mention summer camp? Craig signed the girls up for two weeks of martial arts summer camp to help pass the time during their long break from school. Its incredible distance from our house in the West Valley all the way to the East Valley made for some long days, with a 3-hour combined commute for Craig as well as an every other day gas tank fill-up. He'll tell you, though, that "that's the price you pay for having well-rounded children." (But I'm pretty sure he won't want to pay that price again any time soon.)

Julia has hinted that she might want to stick with learning karate, (much closer to home this time) or possibly piano, and Savanna wants to try out guitar lessons next. (Having well-rounded children means that they try a bunch of different stuff until it gets difficult or they get tired of it, right?? Thank goodness for Groupon.)

Meanwhile, Lex got lots of baby brother bonding time, and didn't have anyone to yell at all day. It was a win-win for both of us, I tell you.
