Recently we put a child-lock on the downstairs bathroom door to keep Spencer from playing in that ever-enticing Toilet Bowl of Fun and Wonder (and Germs). The ensuing calm was wonderful, as long as everyone remembered to close and lock the door after they left the room.
It didn't take Mr. Smarty Pants too long to figure out that he could very easily just get into the toilets upstairs, where we had not put locks. Which is why he got into the toilet and splashed water all over himself and the floor about 3 or 4 times on Saturday. So, we got locks for the upstairs bathrooms as well.
And then he was bored. Oh, so bored.
I mean, what does a 19-month-old DO with himself all day if he can't play in the toilet to help pass the time?
Don't worry about him, though. It took some time, but he finally found a couple other ways to keep himself busy. And me crazy.
Just exactly as it should be.

That kid, though!!!
