In Which Daddy (and Julia) Make a Diorama, I See a Car with Eyelashes, and Someone Annoying Parks Next to Me

Just thought I'd keep you abreast of some of the exciting things happening around here.*

Daddy undertook this project, and did a bang-up job. 

(And I think Julia helped, too, in between bouts of "this is boring.")

I have no words. Only giggles.

Seriously, people? This is almost as bad as Shopping Cart Guy.

*Really it's just a sorry attempt at trying to make up for still not posting Christmas pictures.

Kitchen Nightmares

 Sometimes I am pretty good at remembering that, at this age, Alexa should not be allowed to have graham crackers for a snack.

Other times, I forget.

(Good thing she's impossible not to love.)

Oldest Child Syndrome

I just overheard this amusing exchange between Julia and Savanna:

Savanna: I want to go first!

Julia: Mmm...I don't really feel right about that. (Sucks in her breath in pretend sympathy.) Sorry, Vanna, I just keep needing to be first.

Of course you do, Julia. Of course you do.

The Phantom Menace

A recent trip to the movies proved fruitful when I realized that I still had the camera in my purse after Savanna's dance class. My brother Michael, the true Jedi of the family, was happy to oblige me when I wanted to take a picture of him fighting Darth Maul.

(Michael won, hands down.) 

Against the Mall he does not fair so well.

Kleenex? Handkerchief? A Jedi needs not these things...

Dramatic Pause

Can someone please tell me when my little girls went from this...

...to this?

Seriously, if life has a pause button, 

I'd like to know where it's hiding.

p.s. this reminds me that it might be a good idea to post our Christmas pics some time before Valentine's Day...which reminds me, again, that I wish I could find that elusive pause button...
