Let's face it...we're all a little confused about why we celebrate this random holiday...

Disney Day 4
I know you've all been on the edge of your seats waiting for this post to finally show up, and I don't want to disappoint, so here it is. After 3 lovely, exhausting days at Disneyland by ourselves my sister brought the girls so that they could join in the adventure. We loved seeing them again, after 3 days of feeling their absence, but I will admit that for the first little while I felt like we were playing house with someone else's kids. (Don't worry, it didn't last long.)
The girls with their new jammies.
This hotel phone was a source of great
contention between the girls during the
remainder of the visit. They fought over it way
more than Craig and I had when we were alone.
Raring to head out to the character breakfast.
Sadly, what started as a slow drizzle quickly turned into real rain.
(We're from Arizona, people...we don't even own an umbrella.)
Lex making the best of it.
Um, did you say our reservation was for 8:40?
Thanks, Disneyland, for letting us in the gate at 8:45.
Ready to dry off, eat some eggs, and meet the Disney folks.
True to character, Captain Hook signed the girls'
books and then threw them on the table.
Such a typical codfish.
Now I know that poppyseed muffins make Lexa very happy.
Chip? Or Dale? I never get them straight.
This picture sums up how Lexa feels
about all of the Disney characters.
Maybe she was afraid Minnie would steal her muffin.
Pretty sure Pooh came to the breakfast
to cure the rumbly in his tumbly.
Protecting little miss from the scare-acters.
Dale? Or Chip? (Have we already been through this?)
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo. And just like that,
the Fairy Godmother lost some weight.
Jolly Holiday with a Bert impersonator.
( Have they even seen "Mary Poppins?")
Finally, someone I can beat at Astroblasters.
Craig has a bigger heart than me and let Savanna win.
My little Space Aces.
Just call her "Trigger."
Cheesy Deezy, lemon squeezy.
Lex was very drawn to Mr. Toad.
(I wonder if now is the time to tell her they're related?)
King Arthur's Carousel...a wonderful jaunt out of the rain.
Prince Daddy and Baby Princess
(Julia is sad that her horse has rabies)
Trying to stay dry under an umbrella
Back to the room to dry off and take naps.
(A mommy's only true wish.)
Lex wanted to try out an impersonation, but I didn't have
the heart to tell her that Ray Charles isn't a Disney character.
Soarin' with Julia...
and Vannakin.
Cutie Bugs
I know, Lex, I love Heimlich's Chew Chew train, too.
Spreading the Midway Mania love to the girls
Nothing like clam chowder in a delicious sourdough
bread bowl to make a perfect end to a chilly day...
...with a gooey cinnamon roll to top it off.

Tummy Troubles
The other day, Craig was walking downstairs and Julia was kind enough to inform him, "It looks like you have a baby in your tummy."
Poor guy. I feel for him. I really do.
But man, I was sure glad she didn't say it to me (again).

Tidbits*
*Some things I have learned, gleaned, or otherwise observed this week
-2 weeks, 2 days and multiple washes later, my hair still smells like hair dye
-2 weeks, 2 days and multiple washes later, my hair still smells like hair dye
-The difference between Calm Mommy and Scary Mommy: about 1.5 hours of sleep
-Psychiatrist & Psychologist: not the same
-Cherry Chapstick: probably the closest I'll ever come to wearing lipstick.
-Editing while writing: just another form of procrastination (thanks, La, for that one.)
-Cereal spills: just about an everyday occurrence at our house
The (entire) Little Mermaid Ride: viewable on youtube
-15 years after first reading it, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" is still a favorite
-Gum: it's not candy, but your 20-month-old will think it is
-Playdates: a mommy's lifesaver

-Good friends: irreplaceable
-Family: amaza-zing
-Fabulous Fall Break: can't it please just last forever?
